Victory’s Running Pastor : Run50

If you have missed last night’s telecast of TV Patrol with Victory’s Running Pastor, this post is for you. Everyone who knows the Running Pastor, lovingly regards him as “Ptr. Ferdie”, and he has been in the business of ministering and serving people for more than 30 years. He is, of course, Metro Manila’s executive director for Victory, one of the nation’s largest evangelical congregations. Weekly attendance to Victory’s 15 locations in the metropolis averages 75,000. Our family is blessed to be part of Victory and I can never be happier being part of a spiritual family that helps grow me, support me and draw me close to God.

Ptr. Ferdie has always been into running, in fact, it was at least 3 years preparation for his Run50 where he aims to raise four times the amount he has raised from his 2011 Bataan Death March run, all to support 200 scholars for Real Life Foundation.

“I run for those who can’t,” is his battlecry for every race he undertakes. He counts his son, John Phillip, as his inspiration for every run. The 11-year-old was diagnosed with Sturge-Weber syndrome and limps whenever he walks because the arch of his right foot has collapsed. Ptr. Ferdie has also committed to pray during the entire run, stretching from Mindanao as he runs across the Philippines for almost 50 days, from its southernmost tip to its northernmost point. He will cover more than 2,000 kilometers for Run50.

My husband and I have always been encouraged by this man’s strength in evangelism and leadership. As a family, we stand with him in supporting Real Life Foundation scholars through Run50.
