Project Pie : OpenRice.Com Review

Of all the projects I have gotten my hands on, there is a favourite project I always like to have : Project Pie. Unlike any other project, it is one that does not add gray hairs to your head, one that does not require an action log and one that has “return” as soon as it is out of the oven (literally!). I did not realize that I can create my own pizza, much less, did not believe until I tried it, that I can make deliciously inviting pizzas by just picking out what I want to taste for the day. My husband will always be better at this than I do. Are you ready? Project Pie experience starts now.

It is not just pizzas that they come and visit Project Pie for, it is also with their unlimited drinks that allow all of the diners to while away the time while munching on good food and meaningful talks. It is also accessible right at the Central Garden of Fairview Terraces. No need to take flights of stairs or brave the crowds in the shop because it is away from the hustle and bustle of the stores in Ayala. From Project Pie, you can clearly see and silently gaze at the garden outside which gets dressed up always according to what the mall wants to celebrate. Just make sure you do not sit right next to the alley that leads to the wash room, can get busy with people milling to and from this area.

Overall, scoring this restaurant a five for its concept, food and comfort.

Lots’ A Pizza : OpenRice.Com Review

Inside Out is just one among many animated movies that I didn’t find suitable for kids. It is probably because of the fact that emotions meant for adults to process were shown on the film as ALL valid responses to our daily lives. The movie actually created excessive times when I had to explain to my kids that responding to a negative emotion the way it was shown on the film is not always the correct way of doing so. I didn’t have to do it with other animated films but with this movie, there are just too many parts of the movie when the characters respond wrongly to negative emotions, it didn’t help that negative emotions themselves (sadness, fear and anger) are primary characters of the story. I didn’t think that Disney Pixar would leave this not sorted all throughout the end of the story.

So, when the movie was over, it was time to find a place to eat somewhere so we can have the most important conversation with the kids. How the conversation went is an all-together different story. We ended up at Lots’ A Pizza, pocket restaurant right outside the moviehouse. What I appreciate about this pizza house is the fact that they close late, maybe to catch everyone who step out of the cinema from the late screenings. Also, the servers were interactive and kept all the kids busy while waiting for their pizza. In fact, their pizza preparation is for everyone in the resto to see. The downside to doing this though is it surely takes time to wait for the food, after all, servers wait for real time orders before they can prepare your order right infront of you. All pizza flavours Hawaiian Extreme, Hotdog Festiva and Manhattan Deluxe were all a big hit for the kids. After all, you can have any kid order their preferred pizza flavour from their menu.

Filipino families like their pizza very much, it is not foreign to hear a pizza party happening or a pizza night or a pizza celebration or to see pizza as part of potluck or a box of pizza as a gift to give.  That is why I am so happy to hear about California Pizza Kitchen’s 18 years celebration in the casual dining industry as the pioneer in offering gourmet pizzas in the country. It’s a two-day pizza fest with five off the menu premium items that truly highlights the innovative and creative California spirit that the brand has been known for.

Reservations and delivery will not be accepted and the promo is not valid in conjunction with existing discounts, promos, gift certificates, ENSOGO vouchers, and the Global Privilege Card (Global Resto’s loyalty card). The five free pizza are Salami + Bacon, Hawaiian Pepperoni, Traditional Cheese, Caprese, and Italian Sausage and Pepper (pictured above). Choose one for every order of regular pizza. For example, if you ordered five regular The Original BBQ Chicken pizzas, you get five free pizzas too!

It opened its newest branch with the first island concept design at Century City Mall in Kalayaan Avenue last year.

Newest Pizza Hut Branch is Now Open!

I remember Cubao as the spot where we always used to go as kids during Christmas season. Because this was where Fiesta Carnival and Christmas on Display (COD) were. Cubao for me, brings up memories of sitting on my dad’s shoulders just so I can have the best view of the COD. Cubao has changed and improved a lot since then. Landmarks have been springing up left and right and Pizza Hut is the newest addition to it, located at the Kia Theater, from the location of the former New Frontier Theater, beside Gateway Mall Araneta (see OpenSnap review here).

But why will I go all the way to Cubao when there is always the nearest Pizza Hut everywhere I go? Because there is a specific set of Pizza Hut yummies that are served only at Pizza Hut Kia Theatre, such as baby back ribs with sides, the monster burger, pork steak barbecue, chunky beef burrito and stuffed Hungarian sausage, just to name a few.

For some reason, even the ambience is different from your usual Pizza Hut, it is most likely because of the wide flooring, comfortable sofa, bar lounge, two spacious floors, very large seating capacity, plenty of lighting, lively murals (Instagram-ready), combined with the usual warm, sincere and friendly service that we have always known from Pizza Hut.

If you are a student, no need to worry about the budget because everything that makes this branch special does not mean extra cost. In fact, there are Hut Feasts you can choose from, if you are budget-conscious but still want to spend time with family and friends over pizza.

Definitely went home with more than just pizza in tow. Adding this to the list of perfect spaces I can use for quality conversation over good food.

Napoli Pizzeria Ristorante : OpenRice.Com Review

They say that my workplace is one of the most stressful workplaces nowadays. I did not realize it was because we enjoy every moment we can get, including lunch hours! It is our opportunity to check who else is free on which lunch hour window (shouldering off our way to meetings and Ops sessions). So when there are six other people who are free to join me for lunch, I was all for it and looked forward to old-time-fun and meaningful stories over food. Even before our food was served from Napoli Pizzeria Ristorante, we got the entire resto noisy with our laughing and story-telling.

It was a carbo overload party, indeed, spiced up with interesting stories from our workplace. Our good friend and Assistant Training Manager Mindy always becomes our official photographer and credits to her for our lovely labelled photos. With the huge servings of each dish, everyone got to taste all of the dishes! We tried a long list of carbo-filled dishes lasagna, meat supreme classic pizza, Italian sausage Bolognese and chicken pesto. There were seven of us but there was still food on the table when everyone finished. I felt a little heady when done because of too much carbo, I suppose? Nevertheless, it was the most re-charging work lunch I ever had (both for the calories and convo).
